Will hydrogen peroxide harm light colored carpet when used to try to remove pet vomit stain.?

My dog threw up on my new plush carpet. It was the color of his dog food, a reddish brown color. I got it up immediately after he threw up but it left a stain that will not come up.. I have cleaned with a new hoover carpet cleaner several times and it still shows up when the carpet is almost dry.I do not want to use oxy clean due to the fact that when I use a black light to see if a pet has had an accident on my carpet the oxy cleaned area glows bluish white. I have heard that hydrogen peroxide will remove the stain. I am afraid to use it on my new carpet as the spot is in the middle of my bedroom floor.
