Where is oil found? Geographic locations etc.?

it can be found in areas that used to have a LOT of biom, such as swamps or jungles. after a long time all that biom gets covered up and compressed and eventually turns into what we know as oil (after refinement, etc). today's largest oil reserves are in the Middle East, which is sitting over what used to be a big swamp.
