Does everyone else find it strange there hasn't been much done with China??

Just to name a few things that have come out of China tainted... dog food, kids snacks, cough syrup, tooth paste. Not only have beloved pets died, but so have people. Obviously we can't stop trading wtih them, but we could at least look into it. Why is everyone turning a blind eye?
